Breastmilk chia seed pudding ??

So much nutritional goodness right here! It’s perfect for families who choose the purées approach and those who choose the Baby Led Weaning approach for their 6+ month old baby, which by the way, you CAN do both. I go into more detail in my live virtual BLW workshop (sign up here).

Chia seeds have omega 3 fatty acids, which is great for baby’s brain development ? as well as fiber ?

I know some may ask if chia seeds are a choking hazard for babies but nope! Especially when mixed with a liquid (like breastmilk), it makes it smooth and gelatinous.

You can use a banana as a natural sweetener with a boost of nutrients or you can omit it since breastmilk is naturally sweet or use other fruit. You can add a variety of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, even cocoa powder which are all great for baby! I just wouldn’t add sugar. You could also add flaxseed or hemp seeds to really boost the nutrition ?? Even put some peanut butter to expose them to the peanut allergen.

Ingredients:

-3oz breastmilk
-1/2 banana (or you could try other fruit)
-1 tbsp chia seeds

Directions:

Mash banana and mix all ingredients. Let sit in the fridge for 1-2+ hrs until the chia seeds have absorbed all the milk and it’s a pudding consistency. Then let your baby eat it ?

WARNING: you will find chia seeds in their poop ????

What have you made with breastmilk?
